Taxi, and our sister company Tax Traders, have always known our workplace is simply the best.
Now, we can officially say that it is.
Last night, Taxi and Tax Traders won both the Overall Best Place to Work award and Small Business award categories at this year’s Best Places to Work Awards in Auckland.
To be nominated alongside some other truly amazing companies in Aotearoa who have set new standards in terms of creating workplaces where can people thrive is one thing; but to be named the overall winner in 2024 in a fiercely-competitive field is a moment we will never forget given the calibre of the other finalists.
Our co-founder Nicola Taylor was intensely proud to win the overall title. She thanked the wonderful humans at Taxi and Tax Traders who drive our culture and show integrity, practise generosity, see the person, cultivate joy and innovate courageously every day. Many of our staff were in attendance and joined her on stage.
Nicola closed her acceptance speech with a powerful reminder about the importance of business being a force for good:
If every business in Aotearoa was an amazing place to work and treated their people well, we would literally solve many of the complex problems that we’re facing as a society. You don’t have to choose between being profitable or being amazing to your people. You can do both. In fact, they go together like peas and carrots. Let’s make sure every person in this country gets to experience a workplace where they are safe, where they are seen, where they belong and experience so many good things.
In announcing this year’s BPTW overall winner, the judges said Taxi and Tax Traders stood out because of our flawless submission and outstanding employee survey results.
The leadership team’s unwavering dedication to professional and personal wellbeing is truly spectacular. The leadership team’s exceptional commitment to creating joy and enhancing the lives of their people shone through, earning them top honours as our overall winner for 2024.
Taxi and Tax Traders were also nominee for the Wellness Spotlight award.
